This game is simply fun! I never had a chance to play the first Darkness, but I sure wish I had now! It's hard to describe how I truly felt while playing this game. The demons and the finishing moves made me say, "Oh my God!" more than I thought I would when starting up a game for the first time! Certainly a game not for the, weak of heart, sort-of-speak. The game truly is violent, but that being said, it is really fun.Graphics: The graphics are wonderful! While there could have been more blood involved when ripping someone in half with your demon heads, they were fantastic. Now, I do have a reasoning why I think there should have been more blood, I like a tab bit of realism in my games. While not necessary, it would have added a more gory touch. But I suppose that's why they didn't do that, it wasn't necessary. I have to give the graphics a 4.75. From the balance of the shadows, to the texture of objects around you, Darkness really did do a wonderful job!Voice Acting: The voice acting was beautiful, although sometimes I was annoyed by Jackies voice. Not entirely sure why though, just something about it didn't sound right to me. That of course is purely my take on that matter. The voice acting was just fine. Smooth, the actors who did the voice acting deserve a pat on the back! I give the voice acting a 5.Controls: I never thought slight twitches would be so gratifying! A twitch up, slice a mans arm off, a twitch down, slice the other, ect ect. I don't have a fancy gaming mouse to play with right now, but even with my cheap Logitech mouse, I felt I was getting the most out of what I could in this game! It responded beautifully! I never thought I could do so many actions with just my mouse. Movement with my keyboard was just as easy too. The game just responded very well, I have to give the controls of Darkness II a 5! Hands down, it deserves it.Overall Environment Sound: The O.E.S. was good. I wouldn't say it was exalting, but it was good. Then again in this game, the O.E.S. wasn't needed as often as with other games I've played. You're often getting shot at, or making loud motion movements with your demons, for there to be any real use for other noises. With that regards, it is rather quiet in some areas. I give the O.E.S. And 4.25.Story: The Darkness II grabs your attention, and doesn't let go. You can't help but keep going to see what's going on (especially if you were like me and hadn't had a chance to play through the first). You're curious to see where things go, especially about mid-way the game when things get, interesting. No spoilers of course, if you haven't played this game, really, pick it up. I give the story in the Darkness II a 5.Artificial Intelligence: The A.I. is very nice, you actually have to think about how you're going to fight the A.I., it allows room for some very creative kills too. At one point I picked up a ceiling fan that was on the ground and beheaded one of my enemies. It was a bit terrifying and awesome at the same time! I give the A.I. A 4.75. Very well done!Overall Score: 4.79 rated up to 5.If you're looking for a unique shooter with a good story line and a thrill, pick this game up!
