Classic 5s are billed as reference speakers, and these fit the bill. In my small, cluttered studio, they fill the room without being overbearing. Clarity, bass response, and balance are all surprisingly good. To my ears, the response seems pretty flat. Sounds good, but not "sweetend" or enhanced, as with audiophile-level speakers.I'm not a small speaker fan, but these deliver big sound. The front facing bass port works well when placed too close to the wall, as I often need to do. They are replacing a set of 6" Behringer monitors that are nowhere close to the same league in sound quality. After I change between room sound and headphones, and get a good mix between them, I have found the mixes to translate quite well in my car, and another home studio I use, and different bluetooth speakers. Classic 5s have surpassed my expectation for bang-for-the-buck. A lot of quality here for the price point.
