Homefront: The Revolution is the follow up to the commercially successful Homefront, and drops you into a world where the United States has been occupied for four years. Immerse yourself in high stakes gameplay where you must lead the resistance movement in tactical guerrilla warfare against a superior Korean People's Army military force. A dynamic, responsive and visually striking open world responds to your actions - you and your resistance cell can inspire a rebellion on the streets and be the force that makes the critical difference in the war, turning occupation into revolution as oppressed civilians take up the fight. But your enemy has the advantage - superior technology, firepower, heavy armor and air support. You must learn the art of guerrilla warfare - ambush, sabotage, infiltration, deception - and fight a running battle through the war-ravaged suburbs of an occupied Philadelphia. And the single player campaign is just the start - an incredible Co-Op feature lets you and your friends form your own resistance cell and become renowned as Heroes of the Revolution.
Explore a living, breathing open world - with true open world gameplay, brought to life with dynamic weather and day and night cycles enabled by astonishing CRYENGINE-powered visuals
Wage Guerrilla Warfare - this is no linear shooter; learn the art of guerrilla warfare and use ambush, infiltration and hit and run tactics against your foe in thrilling un-scripted firefights
Build the Resistance - recruit revolutionaries to the cause, establish bases and safehouses, capture and customize a deadly arsenal, and build improvised, homebrew weapons for your Guerrilla Tool Kit
Ignite the Revolution - from oppressed citizen to revolutionary leader, an epic single-player campaign tells the story of the second War of Independence.
Online Co-OP - take the battle online, form a Resistance Cell with your friends and earn your reputation as Heroes of the Revolution
It has so much potential, but ultimately falls flat on it's face. The game play is very crude, and ineffective; and the AI is ridiculously "stupid". I think the main problem is they used the wrong game engine. CryEngine looks amazing (!!!), but Frostbite is much smoother and the game play is just way more fluid in this sort of game (lots of mobiles in a constant battle. Frostbite is just much better for any of these massive combat systems (like battlefront and MoH).The "minimum requirements" are not necessarily the actual minimum game requirements... I'm running an GTX650 2gb card with a 2.7ghz i5-6400 (newer model, but slower clock speed) and it looks great and runs smooth.OIf you can look past the obvious quirks of the AI and the game interface then it can be fun for a few hours... but after that you will most likely get tired of all the quirks and bugs.Great graphics and good gameplay but having to "load out" and having underpowered weapons at the start so you have to "creep around" instead of blasting away really ticks me off. The AI is soo tight in this game that if you so much as peak out when an enemy is within 100 yards of you - you get creamed. Hours of walking around behind buildings just to finish a mission. This is more like Splinter Cell than a straight FPS. The original Homefront was way better.Well crap.... looked entertaining in the trailers and the first Homefront was a fair game to play. This one had huge potential but they just blew it on so many levels. It's buggy as a cheap apartment, controls are basic, sloppy, slow and the motorcycle which is supposed to be a big feature in the game is unridable because of this, no save game option so when the AI kills you with a horde of appearing out of nowhere badguys you start at the beginning of whatever quest you were on that and gets old fast if you've been in for a while. Overall it isn't worth $60, wait till the price drops and they get some bug fixes in.Update 6/12, it didn't take long the price has dropped $10 already .Save your money. I bought the PC disc version from Amazon and sad to say this game has more bugs in it than a bulb shield on a hot summer night. Check the reviews on the better known game web sites if in doubt. In particular Google "can't complete the yellow zone".Aside from this the game is an exercise in futility even at the recruit difficulty and should be relegated only to those who enjoy getting killed time after time after time. And if this isn't enough to dissuade you, throw in poor optimization (I have a Evga GTX 980 SC) with stuttering, frame rate dips, crashes at the initial splash screen, with a "promised" patch forthcoming per the dev's.It has all the makings of a fun game but just too many issues at this point to warrant buying .... i.e., it looks and plays like a game that was pushed out the door way too soon ....I'm enjoying this MUCH more than I thought I would. This game will keep me occupied far longer than most, because you have so much freedom to perform missions many different ways. The atmosphere is well-crafted, the roles pretty decent, and the missions take thought and car. Soooooo, this is one you will either grow into, or not. I'f you're impatient, buy COD 4 and shoot away, not here...using the game to test out video cards the game runs well looks good I have notice that a lot of gamer did not like the game please check the reviews you can locate on youtube. This was not a new game because it came with a second set of key codes first I have taken this game out twice and reinstalled once and had steam install the second time I did everything that I am suppose to do in the game someone is telling me to hack a scanner and for some reason it will not work second thing the black clouds are covering just about everything other than that it was fun just wish I could have gotten at least out of the gate.delivered on time; good priceVery nice gameFun game, arrived early!Great game ,very challenging ,hopefully you keep making more.
