I'm not really a First-Person-Shooter fan; my twitch response is lackluster and most FPS stories really don't interest me. I prefer a good story and tend to gravitate toward strategy games and RPGs; I just don't find any satisfaction in (as my grandson says) shooting anything that moves.That being said, I was familiar with Dmitry Glukhovsky's book and the video specs on the game seemed just the ticket to put my new EVGA RTX 2080Ti FTW3 through its paces.The story, within the limitations of the game, is actually quite good and you can spend a decent amount of time exploring the world and its inhabitants. So, while not technically a RPG, it is quite satisfying in that regard, but what amazes is the beauty and complexity of the graphics and game engine. It is at times breathtaking.More than once I ended up dead because I was captivated by the landscape, the lighting, the shading...The hellscape of a nuclear ravaged Moscow is made starkly beautiful by the team at 4A-Games.If you like games that realistically present a fully-realized world you may appreciate Metro-Redux. If your preference in games is a fast-paced, in-your-face FPS you will probably love the game and really enjoy all of the exquisite eye-candy.
