Product Description On the war-torn planets of tomorrow, mankind's greatest battle is about to begin. With its frontier colonies devastated by a growing insurrection, Earth dispatches the elite 8th Armored Infantry (nicknamed "Section 8") to repel the coming onslaught. The nickname refers to an old United States military regulation where a soldier would be dismissed from service through being mentally unfit for duty. The near-suicidal missions that this division volunteers for brands them as insane by other military units. Section 8 deploys by 'burning in' from their orbital drop ships tens of thousands of feet above the battlefield, utilizing the most advanced arsenal of military hardware known to man. Their mission: to scout and secure difficult objectives and smash enemy defenses in lightning-quick assaults. An intense first-person shooter, Section 8 allows players to dynamically alter the flow of combat as they see fit. Employing tactical assets and on-demand vehicle deliveries, players are given unprecedented strategic control over epic sci-fi battlefields. Get ready to burn-in trooper; the war begins in 2009. TimeGate made a great game here--I've reviewed it before, because I bought this one for a buddy of mine, to play online. It's a great game, for 360, PS3, OR PC!But TG recently went bankrupt--forced into it, I feel, by their own terrible treatment of their faithful customers.Any gawkers just find their very own company forum site and look there--you'll see every single page riddled with people who tried to get them to support this game (and others), and time and time again, were treated like idiots, lied-to, and basically, fooled by this company. They got what they deserved--but let's talk about this GAME, however briefly:It's like HALO Reach--HALO, but with a constant-on jet-pack.For FPS fan--or even real-life soldier--who's ever wondered what advantage they'd gain by having a real, perpetual-usage, JETPACK (oh--PLUS a large arsenal of highly-useful, easily-used weapons on hand)...this is YOUR GAME.Even better--it's actually even BETTER to play online, now that TG quit messing with their customers.Client-hosted games (me and you) are FAR better than TG's ever were--I still play alongside people from all over the world, ALL of whom keep saying what a good game this is.So, 'so much for the negative'--the game still ROCKS.Every 20 seconds or so, your in-game jetpack fully charges, so you can use it to leap up to 100+ meters on a full-run, and outwit-outfight any opponent in close combat, as well.Maps are very well designed for every type of player--snipers, kamikazes, lurkers, cut-and-run people--all have their part in your team's 'concerted-effort' to reach the (avg) 1000-point game goal, by killing members of the other team, hacking/controlling bases on each map, and completing in-game missions like 'Intel', 'Plant Bomb', 'Convoy', and supporting a VIP and/or Commando officer deployed on your team automatically during the game. The bots are intelligent in this game--in levels of difficulty from 'Easy' to 'Swarm', just when you might 'think' you've got a bead on an opposing team 'bot' member, he'll surprise you by deploying with better defensive armor (so it will take more shots to kill him, and he'll kill YOU), or he'll suddenly change his behavior, and start using better tactics than even you yourself know...yet.Deployment is full-on cool--you drop in from over 1000 meters, and can choose to use your jetpack to 'soft-land' (choosing your touch-down spot with precision) and go into immediate gameplay, or 'crash-land' (to help you avoid enemy Anti-aircraft guns) and wait the 2 seconds it will take for you to get over 'concussion', hoping to avoid the enemy, who surely located you during deployment (tip: land 'high', on an elevation).Jumping, leaping, running, jet-packing, crouching...everything but swimming, in this combat game, you'll want to get really good at maneuvering your player amidst as many enemies as possible to help lead your team to a win.Your choice of game tactics, skill level, and genuine attitude toward cooperation will weigh heavily on the outcome of your game.Teams with the best combination of skill, tactics, and even respect toward your teammates will always win--teams that are sluggish and aimless take away nothing, every time. Selfish players will bring down a team more than anything--the game is the best example I've ever seen of a FPS that can team anyone the importance of cooperation in a realistic battle scene.Avoid buying the most expensive 'toys' (Heavy Armor, Tanks) until you've helped your team lay the foundation for a win, by buying deployments that can really help you HOLD each base you successfully hack and control. For all its brilliant gameplay, the most important thing you can 'buy' in in-game 'money' (points gained by kills, hacking, ETC.) will be the cheapest thing--the little Supply Depots that can heal you, heal other stuff (tip: 'including OTHER SUPPLY DEPOTS), and most importantly, YOUR TEAMMATES!When you have enough 'dollars' in each game, 'true team-captains' (i.e. 'leaders', 'winners') should buy stuff like Supply Depots, MiniGuns (like stationary 100mm's), AA (anti-aircraft guns--to keep enemies from deploying right upon your team), and other stuff to help out your team, before jumping into that tank to go stomping around the yard. But tanks are fun, and pretty powerful, too--in this game, 'teamplayers' are distinguished from 'selfish players' by buying tanks instead of heavy armor (which you can use to bash and destroy enemy deployments, but many players lose these within a minute or so).So...this is Section 8.For those who are STILL too cheap to put out the minimal outlay (under $10--everywhere 'used') to buy, enjoy, and dominate this game...too bad, you'll miss something really fun and engaging here. For those who do buy it--BOO-YAH, and you must be crazy.'Section 8 crazy'--have fun!
