Pro: Sturdy mount, nicely integrated cable routing, easy to assemble!Con: Clamp needs 3.5/4-inches overhang to fully grip edge of deskAs noted above, this is an amazing monitor mount, great value for the build quality. I was impressed by all the nice design touches, like the smooth edges for all the cable routing troughs, and even a place to store the adjustment Allen wrench exactly where you may need it in the future! A well thought-out mount, very sturdy, excellent fit and finish. Holds my 27-inch Acer monitor with no issue. The only con is really my work area; the workbench I'm using this clamp on - from BenchDepot - has a heavy steel frame, which is inset from the table edge about 1.5-inches. The 3M mount has a deep clamp, and to be fully secure, needs to go under the table surface at least 3.5 inches, 4-inches would be better. It won't quite clear the steel frame... I could use the alternate through-mount option, but I don't want to drill the table until I decide on a permanent location. I didn't take off any stars for that, it's my error.tl;dr: highly recommended for a sturdy, well-made monitor mount! Just check your table/desk clearances, make sure there's space to get the clamp fully under the edge.I own 3 of these. I've tried ~10 other monitor arms and none have been even close to as good as this one! There are plenty of reviews on here, so I won't cover everything. But here are the basics:1. They're strong. Holds my 43" monitor right where I want it. Has done so for ~2 years now. It's ~26lbs. Another holds a 27" monitor + a Nikon DSLR just fine.2. They're really flexible. I have all 3 clamped onto the back of my desk and they hold two side monitors at a good angle flanking either side of my 43" monitor.3. They have a good long reach.4. They go up higher than most monitor arms. This is important for me so I can keep the bottom of my 43" monitor ~10" off of my desk as well as a portrait 27" monitor ~8" off of my desk.5. Gotta be careful with the little hex screws you use to tighten things. Gotta do it both tightly but not too tightly that you strip things. I had one strip and 3M sent me a replacement. Haven't had any other issues - could've just been a bad one, even.6. The clamps on the desk are pretty large. These could handle some pretty thick desks. My desk isn't too thick, but this was super important for me. Why? Well, I have a standing desk and I needed to build a shelf under the bottom of my desk. I didn't want to start drilling into the desktop surface (since it's so thin - only ~1" thick), so I wanted another option. Turns out, these clamps are sized perfectly to allow a 2x2 board (~1.75" x 1.75" in measurements) to slide right in the gap between the long threaded screw and the back plate of the clamp. Since I have 3 going across the back of my desk, I just threaded a 2x2 through there and that gave me a perfect place to hang a custom-built shelf from. Some 1x2s for ridges to keep things from sliding off, a 1x6 for the bottom of the shelf, and some really long bolts to hang from the 2x2, and I've got me a great shelf there for small things like an audio mixer, power strips, cable management, and more! These mounts are a bit pricy, but they're really not too bad for the amount of weight they can support. It's hard to find a good mount that supports 30lbs that doesn't cost quite a bit more than this one does, so I can't complain. It's definitely worth it, in my opinion.Directions were easy to follow. I mounted the arm on the right hand side of my corner computer desk using the Allen Wrench supplied. The monitor I mounted is a 27 inch Asus weighing in at 14.3 lbs. The ball joint that allows the monitor to move up and down is tension controlled by use of a small Allen head bolt and nut. When I first set the tension the monitor had a tendency to slide down. A little more tension and the vertical seemed to hold better. After a little use the vertical tension loosened up and had to be re-torqued. The supplied nut used to set the tension had a rounded cap and appeared to cause the amount of torque to be limited because it would not allow the bolt to pass through the nut. A little more torque was required and at that point the round cap on the nut popped off and finally allowed for the required tension to hold the monitor in place. The horizontal adjustment was/is also a little difficult to set at perfectly level as the ball socket would slip past the point of level. That problem was also solved at the point the cap on the nut popped off and allowed the bolt to pass further through the nut. It was either that or go find a nut to replace the original. I chose this arm because a wall mount was out of the question. For what I wanted the arm works great. I can now slide my keyboard, and other things under the monitor and open up more room on my desk. Bottom line, I would recommend this item keeping in mind not to put a heavy monitor on it, and knowing you will have to apply more tension then would seem obvious. The unit was easy to install, and so far has easily held my 17” monitor . I have an L-Shaped desk and this works nicely. This Single Monitor Mount by 3M is wonderful in every way except for where it counts. Out of the box it was extremely easy to build. I clamped it to my desk, tightened it easily by hand, added both pieces of the arm and attached it to my 2010 27" iMac (I also purchased an iMac/vesa adapter). Each piece of the arm clipped in nicely to each other and would be extremely easy to disassemble if needed with the simple clicking mechanisms. The stand itself was fully capable of holding the weight of my 27" iMac (slightly less than 30 lbs without its stand). The problem lies with the pivot at the vesa connection/monitor. After adjusting and readjusting the pivot ball, swivel and the arms, my iMac just kept falling forward at the pivot ball. I was really hopeful this arm would work out as I liked the look of it and it is very well made. I have been doing a lot of research to find an arm that could handle the weight of my iMac. I really thought I had a winner, but I guess not. It is going back. There are very few options for a monitor arm that has downward tilt and supports heavier devices and was skeptical it would work at first based on the reviews. However, it worked like a charm supporting a 28lb ThinkCentre AIO PC. The tilt feature works great and holds in place - even for heavier devices. Perhaps other reviewers got a lemon, but I didn't feel I needed to over tighten to ensure the tilt / angle remained. I would recommend / buy again.I have 2 of those for 27'' monitors and i love em. The trick is when you tight the top Allen screw you need to use a vise grip to hold the other side, that way it can be really tight and keep the monitor at the perfect angle. If you are looking for a mount that will fit a thicker table, then be warned that the description is incorrect. The C-Clamp will max out at 2.25". It appears the clamp was redesigned from the original bolted construction that allowed you to screw in to the wider screw mounts to accomodate thicker tables.Excelente soporte para monitor 3M, lo probé con un BenQ de 27 pulgadas y funciono sin problema. Los materiales con los que está fabricado son de muy alta calidad y robustos. Se adaptó facilmente al espesor de mi escritorio (es delgado y otros soportes no logran fijarse correctamente).En general una muy buena compra, estoy satisfecho. Recomiendo ampliamente.
