I am currently on my27th build after reading this book to get me started. I can build a $1200 desktop for about $700 PLUS all parts warrantied 1 year, the CPU 3 years, and the memory lifetime warranty. I fix and upgrade computer hard drives, video cards, memories, virus removal in my spare time and it gives me an extra $500 to 1000 a month with a $200 tool and equipment investment. For your first build though chances are you have all the tools needed in your family tool box.This book work especially well with pcpartpicker.com as pcpartpicker will not let you use incompatible parts in the same build AND shows who has part cheapest (usually Amazon.) Read this book, go to the library, and after looking through it you will have the reason to buy it. Honestly, building a pc is just plugging wires together and screwing a few screws with a cross tip screw driver. My first build took me 3 days, now its about 90 minutes.
